What is Career Tech Education?

Career and Technical Education is the practice of delivering hands-on, skills-based education that prepares students for careers in today’s high-demand technical workforce. CTE is found in high schools, career and technical centers, community and technical colleges, and is often introduced at the middle school level. Outcomes from CTE often include Industry-Recognized Certifications that create an advantage for students entering the workplace.

CTE focuses on job-readiness, and is applicable to many career areas, or “clusters”, such as Health Sciences, Agriculture, Transportation, Manufacturing, Information Technology, Business, Construction and–most recently–Supply Chain/Logistics.
